Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club (MHYSC) offers recreational soccer programming which is primarily devoted to a soccer player’s enjoyment and development without the emphasis on stringent travel or high-level competition. Mount Hamilton United Soccer Club (MHUSC) offers recreational summer Soccer programming which is primarily devoted to a Soccer Player’s enjoyment and development without the emphasis on stringent travel or high-level competition. The purpose of recreational Soccer is to provide an opportunity for all MHUSC participants (Coaches, Officials and Players) to have fun, be active, learn the “beautiful game” and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.
Any Friend/Coach request must be made during the registration process on PowerUp.
As of February 6, we will not be accommodating any special requests through email, so please be mindful of utilizing the Roster Note feature within Power Up. (All requests made via email before Feb 6 have been successfully processed already).
MHUSC is also a proud supporter and leading provider of Canada Soccer’s
Long Term Player Development (LTPD).
LTPD provides a pathway of fun, enjoyment, skill development and talent identification through training and competition.
Players, regardless of skill level, will compete against each other at training sessions and games from three (3) years of age and up.
MHUSC will de-emphasize standings at the early ages and there will be no published results of game scores until age 14 in accordance with Canada Soccer’s LTPD principles.
There will be plenty of meaningful competition and games; the focus will be on player development and enjoyment of the game.
Recreational Players U3–U6 will receive one activity/game per week. Players U7–U18 will receive one full training session and one game per week.
U15–U18 coaches will decide the specific practice day based on player availability.
The summer recreational season will run from Tuesday after Victoria Day (May 19) with the season concluding the week of August 10th for Gilkson Park players.
Super Saturday will be held on August 22nd for U3–U13 players.
U14+ divisions will finish at different times depending on the Interlock program.
For the U12–U14 Boys Division, the first week scheduled will be used to create balanced teams.
All players will attend an evaluation session run by the Grassroots Manager and technical staff before team placement.

Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club (MHYSC) offers recreational winter soccer programming which is primarily devoted to a soccer player’s enjoyment and development without the emphasis on stringent travel or high-level competition. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for all MHYSC participants (coaches, officials and players) to have fun, be active, learn the “beautiful game” and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.
The Indoor Recreational Program will offer players U3-U6 the opportunity to be active, play age-appropriate fun activities as well as some 3v3 soccer. Our U7-U9 program offer’s players the opportunity to play a 5v5 game each week with our U10 – U16 program receiving the opportunity to play in a 7v7 game. All age groups within our Indoor house league will operate one day/evening per week. For more information on our fall program including days, times and locations please see below.
MHYSC is also a proud supporter and leading provider of Canada Soccer’s Long Term Player Development (LTPD). Players, regardless of skill level will be competing against each other during their weekly game. MHYSC will de-emphasize standings at the early ages and there will be no published results of game scores until age 14 in accordance with Canada Soccer’s LTPD principles. There will be plenty of competition and plenty of games; we just won’t focus on standings; the focus will be on player development and enjoyment of the game.
The 2026 Winter House league will be held at Redeemer Collage, inside the soccer dome. The fall program will run for 10 weeks starting the week of January 17th with the final games being played the week of March 29th. All age groups will have one game day per week, and all divisions will all be Co-ed. Players will receive a full kit (Shirt, shorts, socks and soccer ball)

Registration will remain open and a waitlist will be created once an age group reaches capacity.
MHYSC will do its best to avoid scheduling games on statutory holidays like Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday in August, and Labour Day.
MHYSC’s House League is open for players from U3 (born in 2022) to U18 (born in 2007).
Teams will usually be formed a couple of weeks before the season is scheduled to start. We ask Coaches to start communicating with their players the week prior to the start of the season once they have received their rosters and uniforms. Coaches pick up day is scheduled for May 13th, 2025. Schedule information will able available on PowerUp close to coaches pick up date.
MHYSC’s Summer House League Season typically starts just after the Victoria Day Long Weekend (May 18, 2026) and depending on the age group is completed before the end of August.
MHYSC will only cancel or postpone games for weather in the event of a severe weather event (for example a thunderstorm) which may make the conditions unsafe for Players, Coaches, Officials and Spectators. The City of Hamilton will also close the fields for play if they are wet and potentially unsafe. Decisions on cancelling or postponing games are made no later than 5 p.m. on the day of game and will be communicated to parents through the club website and social media feeds. Since soccer is played in the Summer, there may be games or practices scheduled where the weather is hot. The games / practices will still take place with the Coaches and Officials deciding to take frequent water breaks. Typically, games / practices take place either Saturday morning before noon or in the evening during the week away from mid-day when the heat can be at its most severe. MHYSC is always looking for enthusiastic, committed and patient Volunteers to serve as Coaches for our House League Teams. We are also on the look-out for people interested in being game Officials, training and certification programs are available. For more information, email us at info@mhysc.org.

Your registration fee for summer house league includes a uniform (jersey, shorts, socks) which must be worn for all league games, a soccer ball, year-end trophy award/ recognition, and celebration.
Shin guards are mandatory for Player safety.
Soccer Cleats (shoes) are recommended for all players of all age groups.

MHYSC attempts to choose balanced teams as much as possible based on available Player ratings from the previous season. The Coach and Assistant Coach can protect their own child.
U3 to U6 Teams in our House League will play and practice once a week. U7 to U14 Teams will have one practice per week and one game. Practices typical last for 1 hour. U15 to U18 Players will have one game per week and practice is at the discretion of the Coach.
MHYSC will do our best to accommodate ALL Player and Coach requests. We do ask that all requests are reciprocated.
Players should bring their soccer ball (pumped up) and water. For games Players should wear their complete uniform – shirt, socks and shoes. Shin guards are required for games and any practices, soccer shoes are highly recommended. Parents / Family Members and Spectators should bring a portable chair and be prepared to sit back, relax, smile and enjoy watching the Children play.
As per the FIFA Laws of the Game (Law 4) all jewelry must be removed before stepping onto the field. This includes, but not limited to Body jewelry, earrings, rings, belly rings, bracelets, watches, and necklaces. Please review the Clubs Jewelry Policy by clicking here

Here are a few things to do:
Our Recreational program has players of mixed ability ranging from Players playing for the first time to Players that have played recreational soccer for several years. The objective of Recreational soccer is for Players to have fun, be active and learn the basics of Soccer.
A parent/guardian is required to be on the filed with their U3/U4 Soccer player to help with focus and provide a safe environment to learn Soccer skills.
Player registration is available online and can be completed at any time of day. If you require assistance- you may come during office hours where staff will assist you with online registration. Check office hours under Contacts as they are subject to change.
For U3 – U6; our league is co-ed (boys and girls playing together). U7 and above- it becomes gender specific- Boys play with Boys and Girls play with Girls.
In order to ensure a fair distribution of time across fields, Players/Parents may not request a game time.
Parents/Players may not request which field a Team plays on. Fields are scheduled based on availability and field size. As such, the field closest to a Player’s home may not be allocated for the Player’s age group.
