Our u13 – u18 competitive program is centred around the PERSON and the player, at bringing out the most in each individual in the best environment possible for them to enjoy the game of soccer.
In the Competitive Program we task our coaches with crafting their sessions to suit the specific needs of each age group, ensuring that all players are given the opportunity to maximise their potential. Our key target is to find a way to match their level of commitment with their stage of development.
The starting point for all soccer development is mastery of the ball but our coaches also aim to instil crucial life-skills in our players from teamwork, dedication, perseverance to discipline, hard work and the bravery and imagination to express yourself on the field. That’s what being a MHYSC player is all about.
Players are developed in the programs through a holistic approach involving the four key aspects of athletic training: the technical, the psychological, the physical and the social/emotional.
We believe that long-term love of the game arises from the enthusiasm of coaches who foster the development of technique, skill, game awareness and creativity.
All Regional Teams are coached by Provincial C trained coaches as a minimum. The coaching staffs all follow a periodized curriculum designed by our club TD and which is vetted by Soccer Ontario to ensure standards based teaching occurs by qualified personnel
IModel and Regional players play in the Golden Horseshoe Soccer League (GHSL).
Registration for Regional Players starts with a formal offer by an Hamilton United coach. The club also issues accepted players a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which outlines club commitments, rules, payment details and instructions.
Are you Looking to play competitive soccer (u14 – u18) at Mount Hamilton United Soccer Club for the 2025 – 2026 soccer season?
MHUSC hold our annual competitive trials in September of each year for all players looking to play either HSL (District) or Imodel/Regional Soccer. Current competitive players as well as any new players are invited to try out for their age-appropriate team. Players are placed into an environment where they can freely express themselves and show the coaches what they have to offer. While being evaluated, coaches view players across the 4 corners of holistic development focusing on the Psychological, Technical, Physical and Social side of the game. At the end of the tryout process coaches identify and select the players that they feel are best suited for the competitive level of the game.
All Players must register for the tryouts by clicking here. There will be no walk on’s allowed. Please register a minimum of 24 Hours ahead of the trial date to ensure the club can complete the correct administration work to allow you to participate.
For any questions, please contact the club’s office to speak with Administration staff or the Clubs Head of Soccer Development.
