MHUSC COMPETITIVE SOCCER
The MHUSC U14–U17 Competitive Program is centred around the person and the player — creating an environment that challenges each individual, supports their development and allows them to continue enjoying the game.
Our coaches build their training environments around the specific needs of each age group, matching each player’s level of commitment with their stage of development. The goal is to give every player the opportunity to maximize their potential while developing within a competitive team environment.

DEVELOPING THE COMPLETE PLAYER
Ball mastery remains the foundation of player development, but the Competitive Program goes beyond technical ability. Players are challenged to develop the habits, confidence and character required to perform in competitive environments.
Ball mastery, passing, receiving, movement and the technical ability to perform under pressure.
Supporting the physical demands of the game through age-appropriate training and development.
Building confidence, perseverance, discipline, bravery and the ability to make decisions.
Developing teamwork, communication, responsibility and positive relationships within the team.
We believe a long-term love of the game grows from positive coaching environments that encourage technique, skill, game awareness and creativity while developing important life skills through soccer.

Goalkeeper development is delivered by the Director of Goalkeeping and staff, supported by qualified goalkeeper coaches and club technical leads.

Winter league competition is not included in the program. Participation is at the discretion of each team and coaching staff.

Uniforms are purchased separately from registration. Families should allow approximately $350 for the Adidas kit.
The kit includes a red home kit, white away kit, training kit, tracksuit and bag. Returning members may reuse their previous season’s kit. A training ball is optional.
Training and competition may use Redeemer University Outdoor Turf and Indoor Dome, Sir John Henry Newman, St. Thomas More, St. Jean de Brébeuf, Bishop Tonnos, Billy Sherring, Heritage Green, Italian Cultural Centre, Mohawk and school gym facilities.
THE MHUSC PLAYER PATHWAY
The Competitive Program provides players with opportunities to continue within the MHUSC pathway while also supporting student-athletes pursuing post-secondary soccer.
The program operates within applicable Ontario Soccer and SISL rules and standards, including Ontario Soccer insurance, Canada Soccer National Club Licensing, Player, Coach and Parent Codes of Conduct, Safe Sport training and education, and MHUSC policies.
